What about lunch during tours to Auschwitz and Wieliczka?There is a 15-minute break during each tour and you can buy water and other small things to eat. On our Auschwitz-tours in English the price includes a sandwich and a bottle of water! You can also take your own food with you. How many steps are there in the Wieliczka Salt Mine?The tour takes about 2 hours on foot (2.5 km in total) – you go 135 m underground. There are 800 steps, 380 of which are at the very beginning. You can take a lift down to the first level i.e. 64 m underground (enabling you to avoid the first 350 steps) but permission to take the lift depends on the controller of the mine. Going down in the lift costs 300 PLN. Can I take a tour of Wieliczka if I am in a wheelchair?Some parts of the route are accessible by wheelchair but special tickets must be bought for the tour. You will not be able to see everything as you do on the regular tour but can still see the most beautiful places. There are no stairs along the way and you can take a lift to different levels. However, this type of tour must be booked in advance Am I allowed to take pictures in Auschwitz?You may take pictures in Auschwitz-Birkenau both outside and inside the buildings. No flash photography is allowed. There are only two places in which it is forbidden to take photographs – the room with human hair and the basement of block 11.
